You can join us for the trek across the Romanian mountains for
expedition:
1. 12-day tour 22 July - 02 August 2012,
We go up the mountains above 2000 m. We will drive about 2500
- 3500 km in Romania. We will visiting the Bihor, Retezat, Sureanu,
Nationals Park, neighbourhoods of barrier lakes, numerous mountain bands,
in this inter alia:
Bihor, Metalife, Sureanu, Cindrel, Lotru… etc
We do not plan extreme off-road, the tour is planned as a tourist
activity. However, some parts on the route may be tough, especially in
a rainy weather.
As for accommodation, the general idea is to sleep on the route,
ideally in the cars. In the mountains it is very difficult to find areas
flat enough for tents and big enough to contain a few vehicles and tents.
Food is teams’ own responsibility. Every few days we go to a city
to fill up the cars and do the shopping. Anything you might need is easily
available in shops, so there is no need to bring loads of food with you.
Food prices are comparable to Polish ones, so by western-European standards
they should be cheap.

Daily schedule
We set off at 9 or 10 am every morning; coffeeeee, photooooo and
food break is planed. At 6 pm we start looking for a place to camp.
There is no very strict routine we follow, mountains are too unpredictable
for that. Plus apart from the driving, we will be also doing some sightseeing,
exploring caves and old mines. From time to time, we go hiking.
We will spend most of the time in deserted areas, with no or hardly
any people to come across. The national Parks can be an exception.
We plan to visit 2 or 3 cities, and we always do that in the evenings.
